Get-to-know-me Meeting
During this initial meeting we briefly talk about your expectations from your doula and you can ask me questons about my work.
Phone & Email Support
From the moment you decide to have me as your doula I will be available to you 24/7 for a call or email to answer all your questions and offer support
3-4 Prenatal Visits
We will meet 3 or 4 times and I will spend time getting to know you and your wishes for your birth. We will talk about the different stages of labor and how we will work together through them. We will talk about comfort measures, breathing techniques, and your partner's role. There probably won't be a topic we won't touch on during our prenatal visits so that I can be prepared to best meet your needs and guide you through your birth experience.
During labor
At the onset of labor or if your water breaks, you can call me anytime day or night and I will come to you when ever you will feel you need me by your side.
As your labor progresses and you start into active labor and then into transition, I will offer my comfort measures and breathing techniques so that you can adapt smoothly to the progress. I will keep you updated on your progress and assist you with any questions you have.
After the baby is born, I will make sure you are feeling well and you are comfortable. I will help you with brestfeeding if you wish to breastfeed your baby.
I will stay with you shortly after birth and will leave only when you are comfortable with my departure, usually once you settle into a postpartum room.
Supporting women through pregnancy and childbirth

Perform any clinical tasks
Doulas don't act like nurses or midwife. I will not perform any medical exam on you or your baby neither will I give a medical advice.
Make decisions for you
Doula's role is to provide parents-to-be with all the information they need and ask for, so they could make informed decision best for their family. I will support you in all choices you make.
Speak to the staff on your behalf
I will help you with asking the right questions and I will give you unbiased and neutral informaton, but it is not doula's role to speak to hospital staff on your behalf. It is your birth, your baby and your life!
Postpartum follow-up visit
I will visit with you at your home after your baby is born so we can chat about your birth, your beautiful baby, and how your body is healing.
I am very passionate about breastfeeding and can offer much support for you there as well.
I will write your birth story and I will give it to you along with all your documentation I collected through out your pregnancy.
Payments:
I believe that every woman who wants a doula at her birth, deserves to have one. I am willing to work out payment arrangements or barter for services. Feel free to contact me for further discusion.
